The horrible irony of this is that the article referenced is a warning about this “challenge” and how dangerous it can be. Alexa left that part out, of course.

That doesn't scale. You can have curated content of various categories but as long as some requests turn into net searches, you'll always be vulnerable to this kind of failure mode, at least till we have general AI that is smarter than someone who would try to short an AC outlet

Siri isn’t trying to kill you!
There are some advantages to outsourcing your interface to the internet but the drawbacks are just the worst. Alexa has “skills” like apps made by randos with as little oversight as Amazon vendors. Like the one that left the microphone on to spy.
